略歴

デンマーク生まれのErikは、1972年より仏陀の教え、とくにPadmasambhavaの教えを学び、実践してきました。DzogchenのマスターであるTulku Urgyen Rinpocheをはじめ、多くの師のもとで修行を重ね、Rinpocheとは16年間、助手兼通訳として共に暮らしました。

1975年からはChokyi Nyima Rinpocheの導きを受けています。Rinpocheの勧めにより、Erikは1981年に学習センターと翻訳プログラムを設立し、どちらもRangjung Yesheと名づけました。これまでに60冊以上を翻訳・出版しており、チベット語-英語辞典はオンラインで無料公開されています。

また、Bodhi Trainingプログラムの創設者であり指導者でもあります。このプログラムでは、受講者が直接の体験を通して、内面的な変容へと段階的に導かれていきます。

English Biography

Erik Pema Kunsang was born in Denmark and has studied and practiced the Buddha’s teachings, especially the teachings of Padmasambhava, since 1972. He has been trained by many masters, including the Dzogchen master Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, with whom he lived for 16 years as a servant and interpreter. Since 1975, he has been guided by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. With Rinpoche’s encouragement, Erik launched a study center and translation program in 1981, both called Rangjung Yeshe. He has translated and published over 60 volumes, and his Tibetan-English dictionary is freely available online. He is the founder of bodhitraining.com and is active in supporting the teaching of the Buddha in the West. He teaches in both Danish and English at the Rangjung Yeshe Gomde retreat center on Helgenæs in Denmark. His articles are available at levekunst.com.
